Squid game – la recensione sottotitolata.
Squid Game è una sorprendente serie sud coreana che sta facendo molto parlare di se. Netflix, con questa serie sta battendo ogni record di ascolto. Questo nonostante non l’abbiano tradotta in italiano e sia necessario guardarla coi sottotitoli.
Il mondo capitalista visto dagli occhi di un bambino potrebbe sembrare un cinico gioco.
Alla base ci sono i problemi della società ipercapitalizzata che usa le persone come cavalli da corsa. Un gioco che è una falsa possibilità di riscatto offerta a tutti i disperati. Il denaro come unico ascensore sociale per il quale bisogna mettere in gioco il proprio corpo, la propria vita e la propria dignità.
Un gioco che tratta i giocatori come bambini ma punisce i perdenti nel peggiore dei modi. Il gioco della vita a colori sgargianti e condita con schizzi di sangue e cinismo dei gestori dello stesso. L’uso dei simboli, le tute rosse e le maschere, oltre che i giochi da cortile sono ganci che attraggono lo spettatore con una alchimia agrodolce.
Complottismo e rapporti umani frullati insieme.
L’organizzazione alla base del gioco è da complotto globale che comprende immense strutture su un isola ed una rete segreta di controllori dei giocatori anche quando tornano alla vita normale. Il protagonista passa dall’essere un reietto dedito ai vizi a diventare una persona cosciente e con uno scopo quasi cavalleresco. Questo dopo aver attraversato i sei spietatissimi giochi più uno, quello finale, in cui si indaga se l’essere umano abbia ancora un briciolo di umanità. Un ultima scommessa.

Squid Game is an amazing South Korean series which is capturing the attention of many. With this series, Netflix is breaking all ratings records. This result has been achieved despite not having translated it into Italian and the necessity to watch it with subtitles.
The capitalist world seen from the eyes of a child might seem like a cynical game.
At the root there are the problems of a hyper-capitalized society that uses people as racehorses. A game that is a false possibility of redemption offered to all the desperate. Money as the only social elevator for which you have to put your body, your life and your dignity on the line.
A game that treats players like children but punishes losers in the worst possible way. The game of life appears in bright colors and is seasoned with splashes of blood and cynicism of the managers. The use of symbols, red overalls and masks, as well as playground games, is a tool to attract the viewer with a bittersweet alchemy.
Conspiracy and human relationships blended together.
The organization behind the game is a global conspiracy that includes immense structures on an island and a secret network of player controllers even when they return to normal life. The protagonist goes from being an outcast addicted to vices to becoming a conscious person with an almost chivalrous purpose. This happens after going through the six ruthless games plus one, the final one, in which we investigate whether the human being still has a shred of humanity. One last bet.
