Artista e performer cubana, nata nel 1968, Tania Bruguera da tempo indaga le iniquità, le ingiustizie e le differenze nel mondo. L’arte si veste di significati civili e politici e diventa lo strumento per la diffusione della conoscenza e dell’informazione.
L’arte “útil” o useful art di Tania Bruguera è un efficace mezzo di sensibilizzazione e denuncia come certe scelte economiche e politiche impattino sul sociale. Con opere e performance, alcune realizzate per questa mostra al PAC di Milano, l’artista cubana sarà per la prima volta in Italia.

Cuban artist and performer, born in 1968, Tania Bruguera has long been investigating inequities, injustices and differences in the world. Art assumes civil and political meaning and becomes a tol for spreading knowledge and information.
Tania Bruguera’s useful art (art útil) is an effective way of raising awareness and denouncing about the impact that certain economic and political choices have on society. PAC (Contemporary Art Pavilion) in Milan will show art pieces as well as performances, some of them have been projected specifically for this event, which is the first time of the cuban artist in Italy.
