L’investimento iniziale sarebbe di 20 miliardi di euro ma alla fine si arriverebbe a 100 miliardi. Si tratta di migliaia di posti di lavoro tra quelli diretti e l’indotto. Da Torino si offre l’area dello stabilimento Fiat di Mirafiori più collegamenti e infrastrutture di ogni tipo. Un pacchetto che farebbe impallidire quello con cui il Land della Sassonia ha conquistato lo stabilimento europeo di Tesla.

Se la trattativa gestita direttamente dal governo Draghi dovesse andare in porto si potrebbe tornare a parlare di un grande triangolo industriale Torino, Bologna, Treviso. Torino questa volta si giocherebbe tutto sui semiconduttori. Se Torino conquistasse la fabbrica INTEL inevitabile un ribilanciamento dei rapporti con Milano. Sarebbe il più grande investimento estero in Italia dopo l’Unità.
L’attesa per quale stato e città sarà destinataria è questione di tempi abbastanza ristretti. A credito del Nord Italia ci sono le fabbriche di semiconduttori Stmicroelectronics fuori Milano ad Agrate lungo l’autostrada per Bergamo, la storica area di Ivrea dove Olivetti realizzò i primi mainframe e l’area della telefonia di Milano una delle maggiori del mondo. Telecom qui ha realizzato la compressione di dati MP3. Un mercato del lavoro specifico già formato da sviluppare. Il sindaco di Milano Beppe Sala la storia la conosce benissimo perché è stato direttore generale di Telecom. Lusso, Moda, Fiere, Design, Food vanno bene ma l’industria con i suoi posti di lavoro e fatturati è un’altra cosa. E’ quasi il paradiso.
