The current scenes are like those in Berlin in 1944
Hundreds of thousands of people are shedding tears as families break up at the borders. Everything we’ve gleaned from history books and movies about World War II has been paraded before our eyes in the last eight days. The bodies of children are being removed from rubble as young women and men die under the bombs.
Nineteen-year-old Russian soldiers who aren’t aware why they went to Ukraine to fight will either take a bullet in their brains or become prisoners, before they can understand the words of their commanders, who declared, “You are going there to be welcomed as a hero.”
On the other hand, their commanders, try to force an entire nation supposedly composed of “their blood kin” to spit blood, as they follow the orders sent to them from the Kremlin.
Hundreds of thousands of people struggle to leave their homes in major cities on any train running, no matter where it may be going. Millions of people look at each other with hopeless eyes, starving, thirsty, without even the use of a toilet as they freeze. Before yesterday, these were wartime scenes in documentaries. Yet it only takes one madman to shift the pivot of the world. History has always been written in this manner…
There are those who do not expect this resistance from the “comedian”
The young leader Zelensky, whom many people mocked as a “comedian” until the start of the war, is now viewed by the world as a hero who will not hesitate to sacrifice his life for freedom before giving in to Russia’s disproportionate threats. Presumably some people were terribly upset by this situation because now the pompous black-humor jokes they had prepared to spring on him were ruined!
In Turkey some find excuses for Russia and at the same time claim they are the “followers” of Atatürk
The historical phrase that illustrates the greatness of my leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, “peace at home, peace in the world,” is so pure, philosophical, and uncompromising that it embraces the whole world order… Here is what upsets me most: some of those who have tried to convince others in their circle how admirable they are as Kemalists, now offer their justifications for declaring the “innocence” of a monster who has bombed a whole country and its millions of civilians, including children and women! They are trying to explain their internal conflict in accepting the bombing of humans, which is incompatible with peace and human rights, regardless of geopolitical or strategic scenarios, or any other logic they may attempt to use.
However, I feel totally coherent on this issue! I have no contradictions. I did not stand by watching the US send millions of innocent people to their deaths in Iraq in 2003; not only was I at the forefront of those who fought against its forces ceaselessly, but I also collected national and international petitions to stop them. We must approach every fascist-dictatorial-religious-imperialist regime with the same courage we have shown against American imperialism, and deal with these issues from a historical perspective.
For me, not a gram of difference separates Khomeini, who hanged the naive leftists from cranes (they were supposed to be brothers in arms until they brought together the Shah down!), Stalin who sent masses of dissenting intellectuals to their deaths, and Hitler who swore to exterminate the Jews and all others he saw as his enemies. Nor are they more or less guilty in my eyes than George W. Bush, whose troops only left Iraq after killing as many as 1,500,000 Iraqis following a futile search for so-called “weapons of mass destruction”! Putin willingly jumped onto that same band wagon.
“War is a very bad thing, but…”
Please don’t try to tell me stories. The geo-strategic paranoia that sent tens of thousands of innocent people to their deaths can be turned into an imagined excuse to make war against anyone. It never ends. Moreover, such a tyrant does not shy away from raising the nuclear threat to cause eventual mass destruction. If you think that my right to criticize will be limited because the country he represents is the center of the former socialist world, you are very wrong!
Some people in Turkey base all their positions on those of America. They believe they can only be for or against the USA on any given issue. I am not one of them. I have my own truths. My route cannot be traced by a compass that points only toward America.
My dear left-wing-opposition friends, if it was American imperialism that carried out these despicable attacks, you would have made the heavens weep, as we once did together… But now in these days of killing civilians and children, I see your sentences start out “War is a very bad thing, but…”. What’s the matter? What happened? If you don’t take note of history, history will take indelible note of your passivity… No state terrorism or war crime can simply be tolerated, excused, or affirmed, or forgiven!
Why did the Warsaw Pact countries escape from you?
“NATO and the EU took the former Warsaw Pact members into their own borders. They made Russia very angry!” So, has it ever occurred to Russia to pose the question, “Why did these countries that are considered my younger siblings turn away from me in this way?” If history still hasn’t handed Russia the answer to this question, maybe it needs to ask itself again! Why did people tie themselves under trains to escape to West Berlin? Why was their freedom more important to people than anything else? Or should freedom remain a mere asset of the privileged lives of Communist Party members? Isn’t it obvious why they fled? Think of Ukraine! Think of Czechoslovakia in 1968!
These are sentences you don’t usually hear. I see no difference between religious fascism, the imperialism of wild and brutal capitalism, the fascism of Hitler or Mussolini, and the imperialism of the Soviet Bloc — now Russia. How unfortunate it is that when one of the two largest polar bears in the world, who would normally growl and neutralize each other, hibernates, the other one ravages the space it left empty. And so, we rapidly move away from a peaceful environment, or at least away from a “war-free” zone!
The “Mustafa Kemal difference”
It’s for this reason that Mustafa Kemal is such a great leader. Today, the world still discusses the issue in terms of Montreux, as well as his work with İnönü and Tevfik Rüştü Aras, and now their agenda says “No” to the attacks that could come from the Bosphorus. The philosophy, political ideology, and continuing route of Kemalism have embraced both the 21st century and the third millennium. But some other leaders I have mentioned have not freed their thoughts from swamps of contradiction choked with their conflicting ideological baggage and interest-related garbage, as they continue to shed blood in the world at every sharp turn…
By the way, I ask those who say, “America has left Ukraine alone”: Would you have applauded if America had tried to protect the Ukrainians with its military might? Those most keen to justify their own ideology and ideas by applauding or condemning the situation only make things less resolvable. In all these confrontations, no matter if you are right-wing, left-wing, or communist, do not sanction any operations that will inflict death, drama, and trauma on children…
La guerra è sempre una pessima cosa
Conflitto russo-ucraino, scene come queste sono le stesse di quelle di Berlino nel 1944
Conflitto russo-ucraino, centinaia di migliaia di persone stanno versando lacrime mentre le famiglie si disgregano ai confini. Tutto quello che abbiamo appreso dai libri di storia e dai film sulla seconda guerra mondiale eccolo davanti ai nostri occhi in questi ultimi giorni. I corpi dei bambini sono stati rimossi dalle macerie così come giovani donne e uomini muoiono sotto le bombe.
Soldati russi di 19 anni sono stati mandati in Ucraina per combattere rischiando di prendere una pallottola in testa o diventare prigionieri prima di capire le parole dei loro comandanti “sarete salutati come eroi”.
D’altra parte i loro comandanti cercano di convincere una intera nazione sulle basi di una supposta omogeneità razziale a versare il sangue seguendo gli ordini dati loro dal Cremlino. Centinaia di migliaia di persone lottano per lasciare le loro case dalle maggiori città su treni che viaggiano non importa verso dove. Milioni di persone si guardano con occhi senza speranza, affamati, assetati, senza nemmeno disporre di una toeletta mentre il gelo si fa sentire.
Conflitto russo-ucraino, finora si è trattato di scene di guerre nei documentari. Invece ci è voluta la pazzia di un uomo per cambiare l’equilibrio mondiale. La storia è stata sempre scritta in questo modo.
Conflitto russo-ucraino, quelli che non si aspettavano questa resistenza da parte del “commediante”
Il giovane leader Volodymyr Zelensky, che molte persone schernirono come “commediante” fino a che non è scoppiata la guerra, è visto ora dal mondo come un eroe che non ha esitato a mettere a rischio la sua vita per la libertà denunciando per primo le sproporzionate minacce russe. Presumibilmente qualcuno è rimasto terribilmente disturbato per questa situazione perché adesso questa goliardia contro di lui è stata rimessa in discussione.
Quelli che trovano scuse per la Russia e ancora ribadiscono di essere seguaci di Atatürk
La frase storica che illustra la grandezza del mio leader Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK “Pace in Casa, Pace nel Mondo” è tanto pura, filosofica e inequivocabile tanto da abbracciare l’ordine del mondo intero…
Ecco ciò che mi inquieta di più: qualcuno di quelli del loro circolo che hanno cercato di convincere gli altri quanto ammirevoli siano come Kemalisti, adesso offrono la loro giustificazione dichiarando l’innocenza del mostro che ha bombardato un intero Paese e suoi milioni di cittadini inclusi bimbi e donne.
Stanno tentando di spiegare il loro conflitto interno accettando il bombardamento di esseri umani, fatto incompatibile con la pace e i diritti umani, senza riguardo agli scenari geopolitici strategici o di ogni altra logica.
Comunque, mi sento totalmente in linea con questa problematica. Non ho niente da obiettare.
Non sono stato a guardare gli Stati Uniti mandare milioni di innocenti a morire in Iraq nel 2003; sono stato dalla parte di quelli che lottavano incessantemente contro le loro forze e ho anche collezionato petizioni nazionali e internazionali per bloccarle. Noi dobbiamo affrontare ogni regime fascista-dittatoriale-religioso-imperialista con lo stesso coraggio che abbiamo dimostrato contro l’imperialismo americano, e confrontarci con questa problematica da una prospettiva storica.
I grandi “eroi” degli stermini
A mio avviso non esiste un grammo di differenza tra Khomeini che fece impiccare gli ingenui progressisti alle gru (erano considerati fratelli in armi fino a che non provocarono insieme la caduta dello Shah). Stalin che mandò a morte masse di dissidenti intellettuali e Hitler che giurò di sterminare gli ebrei e tutti quelli che considerava suoi nemici. Né ai miei occhi sono più colpevoli di George W. Bush, le cui truppe hanno lasciato l’Iraq soltanto dopo aver sterminato più di un milione e mezzo di iracheni seguendo la falsa pista delle cosiddette “armi di distruzione di massa”.
Putin ha deciso di saltare sullo stesso carro. Per cortesia non cercate di raccontare storie. La paranoia geo-strategica che manda decine di migliaia di innocenti a morire può essere rigirata in una scusa immaginaria per poter fare la guerra contro chiunque. Inoltre, un tale tiranno non si perita dal minacciare la soluzione nucleare e causare così distruzione di massa.
Se pensate che il mio diritto alla critica possa essere limitato dal fatto che il Paese rappresentato da Putin è stato il centro del primo socialismo mondiale, state sbagliando!
Alcune persone in Turchia basano la loro posizione su quella dell’America. Credono di poter essere a favore o contro gli Stati Uniti per ogni questione. Io non sono uno di loro. Ho le mie personali verità. La mia strada non può essere tracciata verso un punto di equilibrio che riguarda l’America.
Se fosse stato l’imperialismo americano a portare questi terribili disastri, i miei cari amici dell’opposizione di sinistra, avrebbero pianto come noi abbiamo fatto una volta. Ma ora in questi giorni di uccisione di civili e bambini vedo le vostre affermazioni cominciare con “la guerra è una gran brutta cosa ma…”
Cosa significa? Cosa è successo?
Se non prendete nota della storia, la storia prenderà nota della vostra passività.
Nessun terrorismo di stato o crimini di guerra possono essere in alcun modo tollerati, scusati, affermati o dimenticati.
Perché i paesi del patto di Varsavia scapparono da voi?
La NATO e la EU inglobarono i vecchi membri del Patto di Varsavia nei loro confini. Hanno così fatto molto arrabbiare la Russia. La quale si è posta la questione: “Per quale motivo questi Paesi che prima erano considerati quasi parenti si sono rivoltati contro di noi in questa maniera?”.
Se la storia non ha ancora dato una risposta a questa questione la Russia dovrebbe chiedersi perché la gente si legava sotto i treni per fuggire a Berlino Ovest.
Perché la loro libertà era più importante che qualsiasi altra cosa. O dovrebbe la libertà essere un mero privilegio per i membri del partito comunista? Non è ovvio perché fuggivano? Pensate all’Ucraina, pensate alla Cecoslovacchia nel 1968.
Ci sono concetti che normalmente non senti.
Non vedo differenze fra il fascismo religioso, fra l’imperialismo di un brutale capitalismo, il nazismo di Hitler, il fascismo di Mussolini e l’imperialismo del blocco sovietico, ora Russia.
Quando disgraziatamente succede che uno dei due più grandi orsi polari del mondo che normalmente si neutralizzerebbero ringhia ferocemente vuol dire che cerca di occupare lo spazio lasciato dall’altro. E così noi rapidamente ci allontaniamo da un mondo pacifico o per lo meno da una zona “War Free”.
Mustafa Kemal, la grande differenza
È per questa ragione che Mustafa Kemal è un grande leader.
Oggi, il mondo ancora discute il problema in termini di Montreux, come anche il suo lavoro con INONU e TEVFIK RUSTU ARAS e adesso la loro agenda dice “NO” agli attacchi che potrebbero venire dal Bosforo.
La filosofia, l’ideologia politica, e l’ininterrotta strada del Kemalismo hanno abbracciato il XXI secolo e il terzo millennio.
Ma qualche leader che ho già menzionato non ha ancora liberato la sua mente sommersa da contraddizioni e bloccata dal bagaglio di conflitti ideologici e interessi spazzatura.
Mentre continuano a versare sangue nel mondo ad ogni aspro confronto.
Intanto a quelli che dicono che “l’America ha lasciato sola l’Ucraina” chiedo: avreste applaudito se l’America avesse cercato di proteggere gli ucraini con la forza militare?
Quelli più accaniti a giustificare la loro propria ideologia e le proprie idee applaudendo o condannando la situazione riescono solo a peggiorare le cose rendendole meno risolvibili.
In tutti questi confronti, non importa se di destra o sinistra o comunista, non si devono autorizzare operazioni che infliggeranno morte, dramma e trauma, a cominciare dai bambini.
