La pandemia ha smantellato il fitto programma fissato dal curatore Jacopo Crivelli Visconti (Napoli, 1973) per la 34.ma edizione della Bienal de Sao Paulo. L’appuntamento ufficiale era stato rinviato dal 2020 al 2021. Ma è tutt’ora coperto da incognite, visto che, tra l’altro, a come pare, la conduzione di questa grande emergenza da parte del presidente Bolsonaro è stata poco rigorosa.
Ma il giovane e solido curatore ha finito con l’adottare il principio dello step by step: a ogni opportunità, si fa qualcosa. E chiaramente la speranza che entro il corrente anno la rassegna si svolga nella sua interezza è forte. Un flusso, per così dire, partito agli inizi dell’anno scorso con una personale di Ximena Garrido-Lecca, nato a Lima nel 1980, e una performance del musicista e artista di installazioni Neo Muyanga, del Sud Africa. Una sorta di diluizione nel tempo tra 2020 e 2021.
Crivelli Visconti assicura che il programma non subirà alterazioni. A maggior ragione in ordine alle idee che ispirano questa edizione: la circolazione, l’isolamento (quando l’artista lavora nel chiuso di una stanzetta o addirittura in prigione), la resistenza. Inoltre, la pandemia non è servita da alibi per tagliare i finanziamenti. Lo assicura il presidente della Fondazione, il collezionista José Olympio Pereira. Tanti auguri, anche perché si tratta di un’edizione vivacissima di esaltante aggiornamento internazionale.

The official appointment had already been postponed from 2020 to 2021.
